This week we have been outside as much as possible making the most of the last of the summer sunshine. The children are enjoying being back in school with their friends and have quickly settled into the new routines.
This Week's Learning
We are really working hard at our reading this term and in class we have been reading Elvis the Squirrel by Tony Bradman. Our focus this week has been on prediction and inference skills, help your child at home by asking them questions about what they have been reading and what they think may happen and why.
I will shortly be sending home a rota for changing reading books in class. In the meantime children are still able to access Bug Club as well as Numbots and Times Tables Rock Stars. If you have forgotten your child's passwords or they need resetting please let me know.
In Maths we are beginning with number and place value up to 1,000.
- Our PE session with the sports coach day has been changed to Thursdays. Children need to wear their PE kit into school on this days they do not need to bring a change of clothing.
To ensure going home time is as safe as possible for everyone we will be lining the children up and sending them one at a time to the parent who is at the front of the line. Once you have collected your child could you please exit by the side gate to ensure all children are collected as quickly, and safely as possible.
As always I am contactable via email however I do not always have a chance to check my emails during the school day so if you need to let me know about a change in picking up arrangements please email/call the office.
Have a good weekend in the unexpected last bits of sunshine. I look forward to seeing you on Monday.
