Netball Tournament 

SKA was the destination this week for the ‘Stingers’ 5-a-side netball tournament. The children, Mr. Neill and the parents were very pleased to find we had been allocated the indoor court for our group games and we eagerly got underway. The children passed and moved brilliantly and observed the footwork, and various other, rules very well. Having spent much time focussing on basketball, we found shooting without a backboard a little tricky (as did most teams) but we played extremely well and scored enough goals to win two of our four group games and draw the other two. So, undefeated heading into the semi-finals, we were full of confidence, despite facing some very tall and accomplished netball players from St. James’. The semi-finals proved a step to far, as the exemplary shooting of our opponents knocked us out. However, a 4^th placed finish and playing our matches in an excellent spirit, left Mr. Neill, the supporting parents and the children themselves, extremely proud with their efforts.
