PTA

We are incredibly grateful to all the parents who give their time, energy and expertise to support the work that the school does, especially the PTA who coordinate lots of extracurricular experiences and fundraising events.

What is the PTA and what do we do?
The PTA is a registered charity that exists to raise extra funds to help the pupils of Broadwater Down Primary School. Every parent and carer with a child at school is invited to be a member of the PTA. It is also open to teachers and staff.
The main aim of the PTA is to fundraise – we make as much money as we can for the school through events, match funding and applying for grants. It’s not all financial though! The events we run are enjoyed by the children and families, and we aim to bring the school community together to have fun!
In usual circumstances, we organise a number of events and activities throughout the year, ranging from the summer fair and Christmas fair to smaller events, like school discos, family bingo evenings and cake/ ice lolly stalls.

Can I get involved in the PTA?
Yes please! We are always looking for new members, new ideas and new helpers! If you would like to be involved in any way, please come along to our Committee meetings and the AGM (which is usually held in May but is being delayed for now). The meetings usually take place in an evening, but we try to make sure we can arrange a time that suits everyone (and now we are all pro’s at online meetings, we’ll probably aim to do more of those!)
But you really don’t have to attend every meeting to make a difference. The PTA Committee needs the help and support of as many parents, carers and friends as possible to make our events a success. The more helpers we have, the more money we can raise for our children.
If you would like to support the PTA in any way at all, by coming to meetings, contributing ideas, or joining the PTA committee, or would just like to find out more – please do get in touch! Our email address is BroadwaterDownPTA@gmail.com and we have a Facebook group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/BroadwaterDownPTA/
Match Funding
Some large organisations offer match funding for employees involved in fundraising events. In the past, we've been able to add an additional £1,600 to a single fundraising event through Match funding. If you or your partner works for a large organisation, please do see if this is something they do!
